My First Day at SUNROOOF: From Chai at a Dhaba to Leading Content
So, I was sitting at a local dhaba near my college, IIM Bodh Gaya, sipping tea and chatting with friends. That’s when one of them asked, "Have you heard of SUNROOOF?"
Well, I hadn’t.
He then mentioned that the company was coming to our campus for summer internships and that they needed a content writer. I’ve never had any aversion to writing — in fact, I’ve been creating content since 2023. As a first-year MBA student hunting for the right internship, I thought: Why not?
I applied.
Later I found out they were actually looking for a Content Head Intern — and that felt like a God-sent opportunity.
My interview was scheduled online for October 24 and was taken by Saanvi from SUNROOOF. It went really well. I vibed with the vision, the product, and the potential.
And then… I got selected.
That meant a lot. I wasn’t just getting a summer internship — I was getting the role I wanted to work in.
Now, 5 months later, I’m sitting in my rented apartment with Ankush Bhai — a close friend of mine and a fellow committee member. (He was recently elected as the POC of the Media & PR Committee. Great guy, tbh.)
Here’s how my first day started:
8:00 AM—Got woken up by Ankush Bhai (cutie)
9:00 AM—Got ready
9:20 AM—Left for the metro
I live in DLF Phase 3, Sector 24, near Guru Dronacharya Metro Station. My office is near Sultanpur Metro Station — so it takes me about 30 minutes to reach.
My first day at the internship started calmly. We were welcomed by Kunal (HR), who handed out onboarding forms. Then Komal ma’am (HR) started our induction, which went on for a session or two.
After that, we were taken on a tour of the Experience Center of SUNROOOF — and wow, it was amazing. I genuinely never thought natural sunlight could be replicated like that.
We all had lunch together (we had chole and rice for lunch) and then watched some videos to understand more about the company and how SUNROOOF actually works.
If I had to introduce the company I’m working in — I’d say this:
SUNROOOF is the first company in the world to introduce lighting technology that replicates natural light!! (who could have imagined that)
When I first heard about it, I didn’t believe it either. But after being here and experiencing it first-hand, I can say this confidently:
SUNROOOF doesn’t just sell a product. It sells an experience — the experience of natural light in places where the sun can’t reach.
And trust me, if I wrote more about it… this would probably turn into a full-on product blog 😅

I feel lucky to be working at SUNROOOF. The vibe, the innovation, the team — it all feels aligned.
